Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

We are committed to doing our bit for communities and the planet through our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). We aim to minimise the environmental impact of our business, support our local community and contribute to good causes – with a particular focus on charities supporting young people, the arts, people living with dementia, and international humanitarian relief and development.

Philanthropy and community support

We aim to donate at least 10% of our profits to charities and good causes each year. Our support spans local and national organisations that help young people, promote the arts, and improve quality of life for people with dementia, as well as international humanitarian and development work.

Our Director, Julian Lomas, undertakes a range of pro-bono and voluntary roles and currently serves as a governor of Crudwell Church of England Primary School.

We hold a Gold Level CSR Accreditation and have won International CSR Excellence Awards in both 2019 and 2023. Julian also contributes his expertise as a CSR Accreditation Panel Assessor.

We are proud members of the Heritage Network, reflecting our portfolio of heritage sector clients, and Consultants for Good, a network of purpose-driven professionals supporting charities and non-profits.

Protecting the environment

We continue to integrate environmental awareness into every aspect of our business operations – ensuring that sustainability remains a practical and measurable part of how we work.

We take seriously our responsibility for environmental protection and sustainability, going beyond legal and regulatory requirements wherever possible. Our goal is to minimise our environmental impact and continuously improve our environmental performance, encouraging our clients, suppliers and partners to do the same.

Our commitments include:

  • Comply with and exceed all relevant regulatory requirements.

  • Continually improve our environmental performance and reduce environmental impacts.

  • Take account of environmental factors in our business decisions.

Our business environmental policy and practice encompass:

  • Minimising resource consumption, reuse and recycling of waste materials and ethical purchasing.

  • Minimising energy and water consumption through energy efficiency measures and purchasing decisions.

  • Reducing the need to travel through use of technology, home working and favouring sustainable transport modes.

  • Eco-friendly maintenance and cleaning practices favouring local suppliers, where they are available.

  • More than offsetting any carbon emissions generated through our business activities that we are unable to avoid by providing funding to Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) projects that have generated Certified Emission Reductions (CERs) of at least 10kg of Carbon Dioxide per month.

  • While our purchasing of goods and services is limited, we prioritise sourcing from local and ethical suppliers wherever possible.
