Almond Tree Consulting exists to help charities, CICs and other non-profits work better – strengthening the way they operate so they can deliver more for their communities.
We believe that small and medium-sized charities are the glue that holds society together with values and ideals that galvanise people to work for the benefit of everyone. Our role is to make their work easier and more effective, through practical experience, tailored advice and hands-on support.
Who We Are
Founded in 2007 by Julian Lomas, Almond Tree Consulting has supported hundreds of organisations across the UK voluntary and community sector.
Julian combines senior management experience in central and local government with deep expertise in charity governance, strategic planning and income generation. He is a dynamic leader with an incisive intellect, who motivates and inspires those with whom he works. He has a proven track record of delivering high quality support, innovation and tangible value for clients. High quality relationships are at the heart of how Julian works. He is passionate about public and voluntary service and is himself a charity trustee.
A member of the Chartered Institute of Fundraising with a Diploma in Fundraising Management), he has so far helped raise over £250m for charities and social enterprises. He is also an Affiliate Member of the Chartered Governance Institute, holds a distinction in their Charity Law and Governance Certificate, and has a foundation qualification in General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Alongside Julian, we work with trusted network of specialists who share our values and practical ethos. Together, we offer joined-up expertise in all areas including human resources, accountancy/finance, legal advice, impact measurement, IT, marketing, branding and design – providing tailored support, never one-size-fits-all.
