We are delighted that Almond Tree Strategic Consulting’s long-standing commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has recently been recognised through a International CSR Excellence Gold Award. This comes hot on the heals of our achievement in May 2019 of a Silver level CSR Accreditation.

Our Director, Julian Lomas, attended a prestigious event at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London on 22 July 2019 to receive the award alongside companies, charities and other organisations of all sizes, in all sectors and from across the world.

We are committed to ensuring that meaningful CSR remains at the heart of everything we do and we recently audited our activities against the requirements of the CSR Accreditation. Our CSR includes:

• Our Environmental Policy, which ensures we take responsibility for environmental protection and sustainability beyond legal and regulatory requirements including minimising consumption of energy and resources, reducing the need to travel and eco-friendly purchasing.

• Workplace CSR that focusses on providing support, training, development and flexible working, valuing diversity in all our work, sound corporate citizenship and ethical practice and providing added value to clients beyond their purchase (and to enquirers whether or not they purchase our services).

• Supporting a number of community and charitable causes through philanthropy (at least 10% of ourpre-tax profits are donated) and through extensive pro-bono support and advice. This includes providing almost 30 days a year of free support to charities including providing time for Julian’s voluntary work as a charity trustee with The Eikon Charity and school governor and Bishop Stopford School.

We find our CSR brings benefits both for our partners and to us as a business, by sharpening our values and interests and ensuring we maintain a breadth of experience of the not-for-profit sector (both as consultants and from within as a Trustee/Director).

We wholeheartedly encourage all business, whatever their size, to get involved in their community and to develop effective CSR practice. Going for accreditation can be a great way to structure your thinking on CSR, increase the visibility of your brand and enhance the reputation of your business with customers, staff and stakeholders.
